Event Date: Jul 29, 2020

We are very excited to share the news! Not only are we actually going to have an August Meeting, It is going to be held at The Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne NY. There is plenty of room to sprawl out and social distance, and several forging stations to use for open forge time. Donations will be encouraged for full and material usage, but there are 9 forges and anvils to put to use. Our demonstration will be conducted by ABS Journeyman Smith Jordan LaMothe. I believe he will be making an axe, but that may change due to artistic freedoms. Jordan is an amazing smith, and a wonderful demonstrator, a treat not to be missed. the meeting will be at our regular time 12-4 pm. The folkschool address is

They can be found online at www.adirondackfolkschool.org for more information, and class Schedules. Look forward to seeing you there. Any questions feel free to call Paul 518-763-7296

ABANA update

update from Jim

Event Date: Mar 12, 2020
Hello James S.,

As the circumstance surrounding the coronavirus COVID – 19 continues to evolve we remain vigilant in keeping abreast of the latest information. In order to prepare for future action, if necessary, the Governor of New York has now declared a disaster emergency. This declaration may result in the necessity for us to change our plans in the future, however at this time, there are no plans to cancel the 2020 Conference. As circumstances change we will make every effort to communicate the situation in a timely manner.

As a precaution we suggest that conference attendees planning to fly to the conference take out trip insurance, in the event that the conference is cancelled.

Meanwhile, we will be reaching to officials from the Washington County Fairgrounds and Local Emergency planners in in order to get the most recent and up to date information for the area and to formulate any plans necessary for the conference
